Meet our family support team
A message from Sarah, Family Support Manager
Hello and welcome to the Grace Kelly family support page. I lead the Family support team which works across Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire. We offer both practical and emotional support to families whose child has received a diagnosis of cancer.Â
We know that having a child with a cancer diagnosis can be extremely frightening and may leave you feeling isolated and lonely. We aim to be there for the whole family, supporting you from the point of diagnosis, whenever you need it, for as long as you need it.Â
Â
How we can help
We will work with you to help you process your thoughts and feelings, talking through your anxieties and fears whilst providing a safe space for you to express yourself.
We offer support in a variety of settings, such as the family home, schools, or hospitals, and can provide arts and crafts activities, games, or simply a listening ear.
We have a lot of plans for the future and hope to be able to offer growing numbers of activity days and run support groups, enabling families to meet others in the same situation as them and ultimately ensure that no family feels alone.Â
The Trust takes our safeguarding extremely seriously, to find out more about our safeguarding policy, please click here.Â
A message from Olivia, Family
Support Worker
‘After a diagnosis, it’s natural to feel like everything has changed. But please know you won’t be facing this on your own. I’ll be here to gently support you and your family through the ups and downs, and together we’ll still find moments of comfort, warmth, and even laughter along the way!
How to contact us
Here at the Trust, we understand that life can become chaotic after a cancer diagnosis and answering phone calls can feel impossible. Therefore, it is important to us that you contact us when you feel ready to do so and via a method convenient to you. It is usually easiest to drop us an email using the contact form below or to ring us in the office on 01905 885777.
If there is anything you feel we can do to help, please do get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you and to helping to provide practical and emotional support to you and your family through this difficult time.
Please note, we are not medically trained but can offer emotional and practical support. If however, you need medical advice, we request that you make contact with your child’s care team.
