In July 2021, the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust was proud to be accepted as an accredited member of the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC). This is the national membership organisation of leading medical health research charities.
AMRC membership is the hallmark of quality research funding. To be accepted into membership, the Trust has had to demonstrate that we follow the AMRC’s rigorous standards in peer review, enabling us to ensure the research we fund is of the highest quality.

To be accepted into membership, the Trust is having to demonstrate that we follow the AMRC’s rigorous standards in peer review, enabling us to ensure the research we fund is of the highest quality.
We have a published research strategy, built a research advisory panel and have worked hard to meet a number of other requirements for membership as well.
Membership of the AMRC will also mean that funds raised by our fundraisers are able to go further.
Charity research support fund
Funding from AMRC members that is awarded via open competition is eligible for the Charity Research Support Fund (CRSF). The fund adds up to 19p to every charity pound invested in universities.
The AcoRD agreement ensures that AMRC members only pay the direct research costs of clinical research in the NHS. The Department of Health will meet all costs for local trial co-ordination and management, data collection, and regulatory fees.
This means in effect, that when the Trust funds research as a member of the AMRC, our grant funds will go further than they otherwise would have done.
We want to make sure that every penny that we raise to go towards making a better future for children with cancer.
