The three peaks challenge
Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust based in Upton Snodsbury in Worcestershire have been chosen to be a beneficiary charity of the Global’s Make Some Noise appeal which takes place on Friday 7th October.
As part of Global’s Make Some Noise day this year Heart FM’s Amanda Holden is taking on the challenge of a lifetime – the iconic Three Peaks Challenge. Amanda will scale the highest mountains of Wales, England and Scotland (Snowdon, Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis), climbing a whopping 10,476 feet in just 24 hours!
Alongside Amanda will be a team of ‘Mandy’s Mountaineers’, made up of incredible people from many of the charities that Global’s Make Some Noise supports and we are delighted to be one of the charities who will be joining Amanda on this prestigious challenge.
Jen Kelly (CEO), Emma Williams (Charity Operations and Fundraising Manager) and Samantha Lloyd (Partner at SME Solicitors) are delighted to be part of the ‘Mandy’s Mountaineers’ team and are looking forward to conquering the peaks.
Jen and Emma will be trekking up Snowdon with the team with Samantha taking on the full three peaks challenge.
The Trust are honoured to of been chosen by Global’s Make Some Noise and are truly grateful for the support. As a small charity, with just 5 members of part-time staff, we really are making a difference to so many families facing childhood cancer across the region.
For all those who know me, they will be aware that with only a few weeks' notice to train, this really is a big challenge for me to get up Snowdon. The trek is not going to be easy, but I will be making it to the top with a photo of my beautiful girl with me.

The Trust has supported Samantha and her family since her 14-year-old son Edward was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma back in November 2020. Edward’s treatment has recently finished but his recovery and ongoing monitoring will continue. As a thank you to the Trust, the family have set up a special fundraising page to raise funds to support other families facing childhood cancer.
The Trust would like to say a huge thank you to the Global’s team for this amazing opportunity of not only raising the vital funds needed for us to continue providing our services but also for being able to raise awareness of our work and our fight against childhood cancer.
