Because the children of today all deserve a tomorrow

Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust Brings Awareness Cards to Life with the Release of a New Signs & Symptoms Film

After reaching over 1.5 MILLION readers with their awareness cards to increase early diagnosis of childhood cancers, Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust are now preparing to release a supporting awareness film which will be released on 1st September to mark the beginning of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

A local animator Philippe Ingels of WAKSTER Ltd. kindly volunteered his time to work with Team Ladybird in transforming the informative 2D cards into a 4-minute informational video presented by a very cute 3D character named Daisy.

The timeless nature of the animation ensures its continued relevance and effectiveness in generating awareness, making it a truly lifesaving tool. As the animation continues to educate and inspire action, it stands as a testament to the power of creative storytelling and cutting-edge animation in making a tangible difference in the lives of countless children and their families.

Through an online digital release, the film aims to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of childhood cancer, educating parents, families, and medical professionals worldwide. Current statistics show that 1 child in every 450 will be diagnosed with cancer before their 15th birthday but their prognosis can be much more hopeful if the disease is detected early. The Trust are releasing the film at the start of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in the hope to maximise views via social media channels, as organisations join to raise awareness of childhood cancer throughout September.

WAKSTER’s exceptional skill in combining high-end 3D animation with emotionally impactful storytelling has resulted in an invaluable resource that will continue to save lives by raising awareness about cancer symptoms in children. Their team’s creativity, professionalism, and dedication to understanding our mission made the collaboration truly remarkable. The final animation exceeded our expectations, delivering a powerful and engaging message that resonates with our audience.

I am excited by the prospect of a worldwide audience becoming part of Team Ladybird as they share our first ever awareness film via their own online channels which in turn will help save the lives of children facing childhood cancer for generations to come.
