Our research priority
Our research priority is to fund projects with clear translatable outcomes that are most likely to lead to an improvement in treatment in the relatively near future.
The Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust’s grant funding will be allocated to teams attached to recognised medical or academic institutions and usually within the UK or Ireland. We award funding via our Research Advisory Panel in line with guidance from the AMRC.
Funding Call
Each year, usually in September, the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust will issue a request for applications to invite researchers to submit their research proposal ideas. If there are currently any open funding rounds, you will see details of these here.

Position statement on the use of animals in research
The Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust research policy is to focus on finding more effective, kinder treatments for children with cancer. We do not currently fund research using animals and it is very unlikely that we will do so.
However, as a member of AMRC we support the principle of using animals in research when it is necessary to advance understanding of health and disease and to develop new treatments. This research only takes place where there is no alternative available.
All AMRC member charities support this principle, as outlined in the AMRC statement on the use of animals in research.
