Because the children of today all deserve a tomorrow

Childhood Cancer Charity launches new Enchanted Riverside Walk

Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust are hosting their first ever Enchanted Riverside Walk in Worcester on Saturday 25th June which promises to be an evening of magic, mystery and memories for all the family.

Sponsored by Painters Law LLP. Wyre Forest, the event begins at Worcestershire County Cricket Club at 4:30pm with entertainment including stilt walkers, acrobats, juggling and an LED light show. There will also be a special enchanted memory area for those who have lost a loved one to leave a heartfelt message of remembrance.

Tina from HeadLight Fitness will be getting walkers ready with a warm-up before setting off on a 7k circular scenic route along the picturesque River Severn and Diglis Waterside at 6pm. A shorter route is available for those who would prefer a smaller stroll.

The charity is encouraging guests to wear fancy dress from woodland fairies, wonderful witches and wacky wizards – all mystical creatures very welcome – to make the walk even more spectacular and add to the magic of the evening. Both a face painter and glitter artists will also be on hand to add extra colour and twinkle.

We are so excited about our first Enchanted Riverside Walk. It is going to be such a magical event to behold bringing families together with a chance to remember loved ones, enjoy an uplifting atmosphere and help raise vital funds for Grace Kelly Charitable Cancer Trust. We cannot thank Painters Law LLP, Wyre Forest, enough for their generous donation of £2000 in sponsorship which will help us bring so much extra sparkle to our fundraising event.

Coralie Hudson - Fundraiser at the Trust

The essential work of Trust includes funding research in to rare and aggressive childhood cancers, educating families and clinicians about the signs and symptoms of childhood cancer and producing medical information booklets to explain to parents and children about the treatments they are facing.

The charity also provides financial, practical, and emotional support to local families through their family support service, giving families a listening ear and support at the time when they need it most.

We are delighted to be supporting the Trust. We have a strong personal connection to the cause and so we are thrilled to be doing our bit to help this amazing charity fund its important work supporting children and their families through incredibly difficult times.

The Trust are also asking guests to ask friends and families to sponsor them for taking part in the walk by setting up a fundraising page. Ticket prices only cover the administration costs of the walk, so every single penny raised by supporters will make a massive difference in helping children and their families facing childhood cancer. Those who raise over £50 by 12 noon on Friday 24th June will receive a free GKCCT t-shirt which can be collected on the event day to wear.

Tickets are £10 per adult and £5 for children (15 years and under) and can be purchased in advance here. Entry includes the welcome party and entertainment, a special GKCCT gift and certificate at the finish, and the opportunity to leave a message in an enchanted memory area to remember loved ones. Children can also take part in a special ladybird trail along the route and will receive a sweet treat and certificate at the finish. Guests are welcome to bring dogs if they are on a lead.

Food and refreshments will be available to purchase from Taco Banditos and Calabria which includes tasty treats including donuts, tacos and ice-cream. Drinks can be enjoyed from Twisted Trailers Vintage Mobile Bar.
