Every year, there are more than 4,000 children and young people diagnosed with cancer in the UK.

  • 11 children and young people are diagnosed every day. Of these, 3 will sadly not survive.
  • 1 in 500 children will develop cancer by the age of 14.*
  • 49% of cases of childhood cancer occur in children aged 0- 4 years
  • It is estimated that there are now over 35,000 childhood cancer survivors in the UK.

Below is a teaching presentation that is useful for GP's and paediatrics trainees. If you would like to use the powerpoint version to present to others in teaching sessions, please email and we can send you a copy.
