Family Support Worker
20 to 25 hours per week
Salary: £23,000 to £25,000 pro rata equivalent, based on experience

We are excited to be recruiting for a new, developing role within the Trust to provide practical and emotional support to families throughout the stages of childhood cancer journey. The successful candidate will show their abilities in providing the emotional support, at the right times in the right ways throughout the journey with families.
You will have experience and skill in supporting people through difficult times, sometimes crisis situations, ideally with children or bereavement or palliative care. You will be adept at working with other support services, ensuring the right information is provided to the families, which may include hospitals, school or hospice liaison.
Coupled with the communication skills, you will be organized, communicative with the other support team, and have a clear ability to manage your workload effectively. Having a compassionate nature is of utmost importance.
You will have good IT skills, as well as having a full driving license with your own transport. You will be physically able to carry out the role with lone working, some light lifting and be able to engage with children at their level.
