The Use of Animals in Research

The Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust research policy is to focus on finding better and kinder treatments for children with cancer. As such, we do not currently fund any research using animals. It is also extremely unlikely that we will ever do so.

However, as a prospective member of the AMRC, we do support the principle of using animals in reserach when it is necesary to advance the understanding of health and disease and to develop new treatments. This reserach only takes place where there is no alternative available. In the unlikely event that the GKCCT were to fund research using animals, this would be made clear when the project was announced.
